      Tool and Parts Control Specialist (TAPCS) was a position within the Production Control Department.  This department was in charge of controlling the production of parts within the factory from the start of a part in raw material to the finished part that will be sent to final assembly.  A TAPCS would be assigned an area to maintain all parts movement from new parts to parts already in production.  A TAPCS was responsible for gathering new work orders to start new parts in production and also moving parts that a machinist completed their production step to the next fabrication step.

   

Responsibilities:

Unloading raw material from delivery trucks via a fork lift or hydraulic hand carts.

Printing new work orders and picking up tools or tooling dies needed from the tool crib.

Moving parts from one production step to the next once completed.

Works closely with Expediters to locate critical parts and assign to the machinist for next fabrication step.
